Inside Chernobyl’s Mega Tomb

Inside Chernobyls's Mega-Tomb follows the construction of a 36,000 tonne steel structure to entomb the radioactive waste left behind by the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster. Fluid Pictures created explanatory engineering graphics for Windfall Films to help explain the challenges of this mammoth task. Cameron Gilroy led the CG, animated in Maya to show the complex and fascinating mechanical intricacies of the Mega tomb built to house the devastated reactor.
